In this episode I share why calorie counting doesn't work long term for sustainable nutrition, health and weight loss. We discuss the calorie density approach and how to apply it to your life, along with how to view quality not quantity when looking at the food you choose to fuel yourself with. From digestion, to energy and absorption we talk about how calorie counting is antiquated and the food freedom you can find by focusing on eating a plant-forward diet without ever having to worry about how many calories are in a whole food. I also share how the FDA regulates (or leaves room for error) for calorie counts on packaged food and why you won't ever know how many calories you are consuming if you try to live by labels and numbers.
